A list of nothing too serious

*Today at work I met with my store manager for my mid-year review. Notice, it is already halfway through September. At the time she reviewed me I had only been in my current position for a few weeks. It hardly seems fair to hold me accountable for an entire six-month period when I didn't have my job the whole time, but whatev. The review did strike a chord with me when she said, "I realize this is just a part-time job for you, you don't plan to make a career here, and you're leaving soon..." And it was a much-needed reminder that I stress out too much when I don't sell enough lotion at work. (Yes, they take note of such things) It also made me sooooo excited that I will be leaving that job in under two months and moving on to something I am really passionate about.
*I have been informed that I really need to have 100% of my support in monthly pledges before I can move. Many of my supporters have donated one-time gifts (for which I am grateful) but since my ministry will be on-going, I need to have committed supporters. This means I am really at 16% of my goal, not 37% as I previously thought. I am not worried. God is faithful and the money will come. I am eager, though, and I am still praying to be done raising support by end of October, so if you would like to pledge monthly, please let me know.
*I also discovered today that it is super difficult to obtain two tickets for the homecoming game against Marshall at Virginia Tech on October 8, 2005. Christy and I are serious hokies (exhibit A at left). We have had plans to go to the game for months. We even have hotel reservations. Now we come to find out that not only are tickets sold-out, but there are no longer any such thing as guest tickets to be purchased. We are now looking into purchasing tickets on e-bay. If you or anyone you know has tickets they won't be using, we would love to buy them. Our last resort will be scalpers on the day of the game, thank goodness Montgomery County, Virginia legalized scalping, or we might be listening to the game from outside of the stadium... :o(
*Fun news: I got some days off work for the end of this month and now I can attend the "World Impact Midwest Regional Staff Retreat" Sept 30-Oct 2 outside of Wichita, Kansas. Tomorrow I will purchace my plane tickets for the trip. I am super excited. From what I am told, this retreat is only held once every three years and all the staff from Dallas, Wichita, St. Louis, and MorningStar Ranch come together for a weekend of refreshing and sharing and good times. I am excited to meet up with my new staff family again and continue to build relationships with those I will be ministering with in the city.

That about sums it up. Anybody have more exciting news to share? I'd love to hear back from my readership... that's why they created the comment posting here--->
