Not just another manic Monday...

Obviously the news has been all about Katrina today. So sad! Maybe moving to the midwest is a wise move for more than the apparent reasons of ministry. I guess there are risks everywhere though, and tornadoes may become my new natural foe out there. Although, we get our fair share of the windy storms here in Georgia, too.
I'll never forget the first time we heard the tornado sirens at home. My parents and I had just moved to GA and we were less than familiar with the warning system. In fact, when we heard the sirens we didn't know what they were and instead of heading to the basement for shelter, we opened the 2nd story windows, leaning out to look for the strange-sounding ambulance. Thankfully there was no storm near us that night, and we have been lucky to not have experienced any other so far. Hopefully that safe trend will continue as long as we live here... but just in case, we are now well-informed about what to do when we hear that siren next time.
In other news, I was excited to discover that my support level rose to 12% today with the addition of another donor!!! God is so faithful to provide, I cannot wait to see how He brings in all the money. I have decided to inform my manager this week that October 31st will be my last day at work. So much has factored into this decision. Mostly though, I am praying to be able to move in November, and trusting that all the finances will be pledged by then. If that isn't the Lord's will I can always go back to working temp jobs!
Have you checked out the World Impact website yet? There is so much going on in St. Louis. To read more detail about that ministry click here. If you want to learn more just let me know!!!
