And so it begins...

What a great weekend! I was so excited to see the Hokies back on the field... and even more excited by our win! It's hard to know that I have to watch the games from my living room instead of in my usual place in the stands painted up and cheering so loud I lose my voice. But, I have decided to cherish this time since I won't have ESPN to count on forever, so I need to really relish the games I do get to see while I can.
On the game:
I am pleased with Marcus Vick's debut performance. After all the embarrassment he put Tech through over the past two years, he needed to play well last night. I am excited to see him grow and continue to lead the team to victory after victory and that National Title so many have mentioned this season...
Bud Foster needs to have a serious talk with the boys about sticking their tackles. We let way too many points accumulate on the wrong side of the scoreboard. Our defense is usually more on-point than they appeared last night and I hope it was just first-game-back jitters.
Even Frank might even need to remind our special teams of their outstanding reputation. I was disappointed to hear the announcers praising the NC State's special teams, who pulled off some great plays, instead of us...
Our offensive line also needs to run some drills so next week they can give Marcus more time to get out of the pocket and really do some good. He should not have been run over at all, we must protect him better in the future.
Overall I am super excited to see how this season pans out. It was also exciting to see how poorly FSU and Miami are running their game this year. I don't expect any trouble from Miami after the show they put on tonight in Seminole land.
Love my hokies!
