August Update

Dear Family and Friends,

If you ask me, the perfect summer includes lots of swimming and a trip to the ball field. By that definition I and many of the kids I work with have had definitely had the perfect summer!

As part of our children’s programs we were able to include a few field trips to our list of activities this summer. As we announced each trip we gave the children eligibility requirements and told them they had to earn their way onto these special field trips through good attendance and behavior.

Our first trip was to a local state park for an afternoon of swimming. The kids could barely stand still for this group photo as the excitement mounted in their little hearts to jump into the van and drive to the pool!

The two little girls pictured here, Khalyiah and Miyanna, did not have much experience in a pool so I was able to help them practice their kicking and paddling as a mini swim lesson. It was such fun and I am sure we built many memories that afternoon they will not soon forget!

Another day we took a trip to Busch Stadium to see the Cardinals take on the Phillies. It was a truly all-American day as we munched on hot dogs and drank cokes and watched our beloved Cards win the game!

Thanks for your faithful support which enables me to spend time with these children and continue to share God’s love with them.

Serving in the City,
Beth
