My dad recently forwarded an email to me with notes written to God from children in elementary school. It was cute to read their thoughts, some were downright hilarious. And they sounded very similar to some things I have heard lately at Bible Club:
This week Adria was teaching the lesson about one thankful Leper from Luke 17. After giving all the details, she was asking follow up questions to see if the kids remembered what they had just talked about. When she asked, "What did the men with leprosy say to Jesus when they saw him?" Marylin, age 10, answered, "Lord, have misery on us!"
She was close... misery... mercy... they do sound alike.
A few weeks ago Aaron was teaching about God's love for us. The conversation turned to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit and how they are all related. Aaron tried to explain the difficult concept of the trinity in a simplified way. Olivia, age 7, asked, "So do God and Jesus hang out a lot? Do they brush their teeth together?"
Just a couple more reasons why I love working with these kids!
