What a great week we had at World Impact St. Louis' Spring Break Day Camp 2008!
Our theme for the week was “Kingdom of the Son: A prayer safari.” We spent the week teaching the children the Lord’s Prayer and focusing on five attributes of God emphasized by the words Jesus prayed: God Listens, God Provides, God Forgives, God Protects, God Rules!
We made contact with 45 individuals from our community through this program—23 children in grades 1-8 participated in the week-long program, which ran 9am-4pm Monday- Friday. On Friday night we held Family night and invited those children to bring various family members as we showed off all we had learned and worked on and celebrated Good Friday with an early Easter egg hunt!
To help us run this program 18 college students, mostly from Denton, Texas, joined us on their own spring break week. They led Bible lessons, provided drama skits, taught electives, and loved the kids without abandon.
Overall the week was a huge success and we were really excited to see it go so well.
Here are a few pictures from the week (they were easier to post in smaller versions, but you can click on any photo to see an enlarged copy):
